Local business to benefit from Google’s Place Search

Google has introduced a new feature called Place Search which has its direct effect on Local businesses. It has added the new option called Places on the left side of the search results and if it thinks that the user’s query is related to local information, it will automatically display the relevant results.

This new feature has its direct effect on local businesses as they derive the benefits by optimizing their sites and thus attracting traffic.

As part of its Place Search Google will be identifying those sites that talk about physical places even if there is no mention of location address. It will be displaying 30-40 search results on a single page in order to facilitate the user find information with one search. Google has estimated that it will on average two seconds of time for the users making local search.

As the feature is in its initial stage, some users may not see it currently but once fully functional; it will aid them a lot in finding local information of their interest.
